Summary
Vincent Whittman has grown too large for his simple hometown in Virginia. In hopes of expanding his influence, he moves to one of the most popular cities in the United States: New Orleans. It's not long before Vincent meets the city's well known charmer and personal celebrity. Vincent has unorthodox means of getting what he wants, but he's never gotten any pushback. Not until Alastor.
A target turned ally is a difficult dynamic to navigate, but Alastor has more pressing issues. With larger schemes than Alastor has ever tackled before, and the dangerous corporate politics of Vincent Whittman’s life, he’s trying his hardest to maintain control and not let himself slip too far into the fantasy of something new.
Two new chapters every week (unless I start failing classes or something).

Summary
"Vincent's breath left him in a sharp, involuntary sound. His hand slapped against the glass before he could stop it. There was no question. No doubt. The universe had not merely brushed him with coincidence — it had insisted. This woman — his woman, his mind supplied immediately, possessively, the phrase sliding into place as if it had always been there — walked with purpose but not haste, her steps measured, her head slightly bowed against the wind. Vulnerable. Alone. The sight ignited something violent and reverent inside him all at once. His thoughts fractured, splintering into a thousand frantic directions, each one circling back to the same impossible conclusion: this was not chance. This was confirmation."
1952, Wilmington. Vincent Whittman, a 41 year old TV star and cult leader, finds himself unhealthily infatuated with a woman he saw once in a café. His already strained mind stretches thinner, as he devotes himself to his obsession. While she doesn't know he exists, Vincent creates his own delusions to comfort himself until she will surely be his.

Summary
Alastor considered the eager and rash freshly fallen sinner from the past, the confident one that slaughtered an overlord that very day, hours prior, and the happy television demon that hummed along to music sitting in front of him now.
Somehow, Vox hadn’t lost his eagerness and sincerity with the growth of power and violence over the years; something Alastor oftentimes knew he, himself, had lost sight of, arguably before he had even fallen.
Witnessing such authenticity, such merriment mixed with strategic violence, had Alastor realize the eagerness within himself to continue to witness Vox adapt and evolve. He didn’t need the television demon there, not for power nor entertainment, he simply wanted—longed for—Vox to be by his side for as long as the other was willing.
His eyes softened at the sound of Vox having started to hum happily to the tune of the radio demon’s favorite song. An easy humming that showed care by knowing the melody intimately.
Perhaps it was time for Alastor to finally allow himself to be inundated with want of something for a change.
Or
Alastor struggles to court Vox when being aroace. Vox is oblivious.

Summary
Status Quo exists like a promise kept in the dark: same place, same hour.
Vincent, who has built an empire on access, meets a refusal that feels like kindness.
Between static and silence, he chooses not to win, and in that choice, becomes human.
He tunes in out of spite, stays for the silence, and learns that being heard is not the same as being wanted.***
“So,” he said, forcing a smile, “is there any scenario where you sell?”
Alastor looked at him. “No.”
Vincent stared. “No conditions. No terms. Nothing.”
Alastor’s tone stayed polite. “Nothing.”
Vincent’s laugh came out sharp and disbelieving. “Then why do you let me keep coming back?”
Alastor’s gaze held his. “Because you keep coming.”Bookmarked by SoapReadafics
