This is the journey back home as they wrestle with the idea that not everything can be sufficiently expressed with words alone, some are long overdue, and that maybe they're just really stupid sometimes, even if Wednesday would disagree.
But hey, they're just two 16-year olds. Cut them some slack, please.

“Please,” Caitlyn begs. She’ll catch me, she thinks, almost on reflex. “Please ask me.”

Following Jinx’s attack on Piltover, Caitlyn and Vi pick up the pieces of their shattered world in the wake of civil war and the threat of a Zaun occupation. Grieving but determined, Caitlyn agrees to team up with Vi once again to bring Jinx to justice, and heal their uncertain relationship.

Summary
Caitlyn shuffles until the back of her knees hit the table’s edge, slightly parted, and Vi reels her urges in. The pull is almost irresistible. She aches to step forward – to move so close there’s nowhere else to go but each other’s arms, cradled heart to heart, and stay there for hours. She settles for sticking to the left side of Caitlyn’s legs, where she can see the reopened wound and the lump on her jaw. A remnant of… Jinx’s gun.

Before, when Caitlyn had been less intimately aware of how bad things were in the Undercity, she might not have batted an eyelash at it. Now, though, it is staring her in the face like the barrel of a gun and she cannot possibly look away.
Vi had flinched away from her hand, even while bleeding out and with nothing left to lose, and something clicks, all the ugly puzzle pieces slotting into place.

Mandarins. Big, bursting bratwurst cooked in too much oil. Mangoes – the leather-skin beneath her teeth, juice down her neck, the stone that will slip from her hands like soap. Shellfish and spaghetti. Bouillabaisse. Lychee. Eve.

If hope is the thing with feathers, I am the thing with legs. Muscle, marrow, movement. Nothing against hope - they’re great, actually, and there is a buoyancy to their work - it's light and loose and tilted towards the sky. It’s just that I move, shake, force. My work rattles, unsettles what was settled.
A man dies in Berlin. He bleeds out from a barely there stab wound in his thigh. Not long after, a woman comes to life in London - self inflicted stab wound in the same exact spot.
People think my work is specific - it’s not! There is a surprising amount of wiggle room, plenty of space for…creative interpretation. Example: Oksana (Villanelle) Astankova and Eve Polastri (née Park) are to save each other. That was the memo, verbatim, that appeared on my desk some 20 months ago. Yes, I have a desk. Yes, we use paper. It’s ephemeral and magical and it kind of just fizzles into nothing after I’ve read it, but yes, you are right to be surprised that we haven’t gone digital or telekinetic or something more mystical. I digress.

“And so you’re wondering… We’ve done it all. So what shall we do now, yes?” Villanelle's hand creeps over the last few inches of space between them, fingers loosely wrapping themselves around Eve’s wrist. Her thumb starts rubbing up and down and Eve's breath catches in her throat.
“Well,” Villanelle continues, embracing the cavalier air of someone who hadn’t been another two bullets away from turning into Swiss cheese, “we could always steal another camper van.”
