Will has never thought his and Mike's, admittedly, unique friendship was a bad thing, not until a debate between the party about Mike's inclination towards him has him second guessing the entirety of their friendship. With evidence that Mike has been neglecting his sister in favor of doting on his every need, Will makes it his mission to fix the relationship between Mike and El by stepping aside and no longer accepting the care Mike tries to give him, encouraging him to pay attention to El instead.
Mike is, decidedly, not a fan.

A look of embarrassment washed over Mike’s face, and Will wanted to immediately shut that down, however Mike started talking again, “Shit. You were just going along with it and I look like an idiot, right? That was probably your way of telling me to fuck off or whatever and I just completely ignored it.”
“What?” Will said incredulously, “No! Mike, that’s ridiculous.”
