“Got a spell for that,” he says, and tugs on a strand of her hair playfully. He leans away from her so he has the space to gesture over her head, making a little circle with his palm flat. “Scary stuff, scary stuff, fly away.”
Miri groans. “Papaaaaa-”
He pokes at her cheek. “Now you smile.”

“Don’t worry, Papa’ll move the offending light out of the room Jackie.” Remy murmured as he walked over to his phone and picked it up. 6 missed calls from Logan, and 3 from the same unknown number. His guess was that Logan had tried to call from his husband's phone. There was a pang of guilt as he saw a text message come in.

“Damn feral.” Remy muttered, walking to the other side of the bed as his phone started ringing once more. He tucked Vinny in with Jacqueline, who was pouting at him. “Get some sleep, Jackie. You too, Vinny. Papa’s going to step out of the room.” He was only so thankful that his kids didn’t need him in the room to sleep anymore.
He stepped out of the room, waiting for the second call to come in, and when it did, he answered.
