“Where am I?” Giyū manages, his voice barely louder than a whisper.
“I brought you to a wisteria house,” Sabito replies. “I mean, you’re wearing the uniform of the Demon Slaying Corps, so I figured it’d be okay.”
Giyū blinks at Sabito slowly. He’d been expecting an answer more along the lines of “the afterlife” or “purgatory.”
“Anyway, I’m Sabito,” Sabito continues, and Giyū feels more and more lost with every word. “Although you probably know me as the Water Pillar.”
(Or: A convenient demon blood technique sends Giyū to a timeline where he's dead and Sabito's alive.)

Summary
"The thousand year sakura, is what they call it apparently." The fruit store owner tells him.
Tanjirou is confused. "The thousand year sakura?"
"Yes." The old man's eyes crinkle with his smile. "The sakura tree at the top of that mountain blooms once every thousand years, is what I heard. I've never actually entered that suspicious place myself, but... According to what my Grandpa told me, miracles happen in there." His smile widens.
"Miracles?" Deep rubied eyes widen.
"That's right." Laughs the warm-hearted man, dropping the change in Tanjirou's palms. "You meet people of a different time, or even the dead. And when that happens, the world changes drastically. Another world is born from there."
Alternatively, New Pillars meet the Old.

Over the mountain the afternoon sun is warm, but Senjurou doesn’t feel it. The violet of the wisteria that bloom here all year is pale, and so are the two sisters that greet them in unison.
“Welcome, participants of the Final Selection,” they speak, emotionless.

In which Senjurou knows, knows for sure!, that he won't stand a chance in the final selection for the Demon Slayer Corps, but it's not upon him to decide his fate.
