Summary
The last thing Akechi Goro expected on Christmas Eve was Kurusu Akira showing up at his door with a bucket of fried chicken and a cake in his arms.
“Akechi, will you be my date tonight?”
Goro snorts, eyes narrowing with intense suspicion as he stares Akira down. He almost didn’t recognize him without those chunky glasses on his face. “My, what a sentimental gesture,” he taunts, tongue sliding between his teeth like a snake. “Is this your idea of a joke?”
“No,” Akira says in stout firmness. “I mean it. Why would I buy dinner and show up just to play a joke on you?"
His smirk wanes in the wake of growing surprise, but Goro hangs onto the façade a little longer. “It’s a bit odd to ask your former rival on a Christmas Eve date is all,” he quips. “How do I know you haven’t poisoned the cake after all the shit I put you through back then?”
“I can’t think of anything more fitting for us, really,” Akira teases, smirking playfully. “And poison’s a cheap shot. If I wanted you to die, I’d do it with a little more flare. I learned that from you.”

Summary
After defeating Maruki and returning reality to it's place, Joker assumes his first love is dead. 10 Months later Akechi comes back into Joker's life, and although their feelings are on the table the two aren't officially together still. Akechi decided he wants to change this during their date on Valentines day, but the trauma Loki caused him still lingers in his mind. How could he ever make Joker happy after causing him so much pain?
