“Good morning my dear,” he says, sounding absolutely joyful and far too awake for Arabelle’s liking, and in a rather thick Scottish accent. He doesn’t speak like he’s expecting a response, which is confusing at first. And then she quickly remembers how his words had sounded like gibberish at first, so at least this time she can actually understand what he’s saying.
Which means she can get answers, hopefully. She’s still confused about why she’s here in the hospital, surely she had something... something else she was doing, right? A new fear wells up in her chest, but she stamps it down. One thing at a time. First thing’s first, find out why she’s in a hospital. And then this new panic-inducing realization can come after that.
With that mental plan in place, she looks up at him as he’s going through whatever he’s doing, making eye contact as he glances up from the tablet at her movement. “Morning, doc.”
