Not in a—like a platonic friend drawer, the one you set aside for your best friend and teammate who happens to stay over more nights anyway, because he hangs out at yours making sure you're eating more than protein shakes and your brother's onigiri, shooting the shit until it's too late to go back to his own apartment and you've got the futon rolled out next to your bed anyway, but it's unplanned so he's got no clothes to change into the next day.
That kind of drawer.

Summary
Hinata’s hands were shaking before he even got his exam paper back. Please, please, please. His teacher set his graded exam face down on the lab bench in front of him, and Hinata held his breath as he flipped it over. Alright! 99%. Hinata smirked as he turned to face his lab partner (he used the term “partner” incredibly begrudgingly) and watched as a similar smirk appeared across Sakusa’s face.
“Bet you didn’t beat me, Sakusa,” Hinata spat out, smugly fanning himself with his paper. He fully expected his confidence to shake his rival, but Sakusa just continued to smirk.
“Oh, I bet you didn’t.” The guy’s tone was really rubbing Hinata the wrong way. What right did he have to claim that? Unless…
Sakusa flipped his exam paper around to show Hinata his shiny, triple-digit 100% marked in glittering red ink. God dammit.
Hinata and Sakusa are lab partners and bitter rivals in chemistry class—until a bathroom decides to fix that.

If it weren’t for the bruises blooming across the boy’s face and neck, and the torn state of his clothing, the boy would have looked merely asleep. He was curled into the corner, dirtied orange hair in disarray, but his face… his face was at peace. Like he was ready for his fate. The sun’s fading light painted the boy’s face, and he looked like a fallen angel.
