He has never once raised his voice in a meeting, even during the Hot Churn Summer of '25, where a fourth of their client list decided to all end their contracts in the same quarter, and the founder was grilling him for reasons beyond his control. He is, by broad and sincere consensus, one of the nicest people at the company, a genuine delight, sweet sweet Jeongin.
And then Kim Seungmin walks past his desk, and Jeongin has to quickly close the browser tab where he was researching how long a body takes to decompose in a server room.

Awful.
Seungmin's body won't get out of Jeongin's head, and now the burning in his scalp returns, along with his bottom lip frayed by his teeth. Students and those groupmates will get a taste of just how slim Seungmin's waist is, how it's a perfect shape for Jeongin's arms to wrap around, how his chest is small and soft, and how his torso moulds right into Jeongin whenever their hugs last just a second longer than normal. Seungmin seldom wears shorts on campus, and if one day he decides on it, corrosive bile would spare no mercy against Jeongin's throat.
Or, after Seungmin goes on a date, Jeongin spirals at the thought of his precious twin brother with someone else. He should be the one giving all of Seungmin's firsts. After all, who knows him better than his own twin?

Somehow, he knows, even if he can’t see it himself. His eyes are glowing. Lavender.

Summary
“Don’t mind the dogs,” Seungmin says, squeezing out his sponge. Bubbles drip down his fingers, the bone of his wrist, plinking as they hit the bottom of the metal basin. “They get loud after nightfall.”
Chan stays quiet.
Seungmin pauses his scrubbing. “You okay?” He turns around, fully expecting Chan to be perusing through his spices, poking and prodding at the labels. Organizing them by alphabetical order, maybe.
Instead, Chan stares straight ahead, at Seungmin’s closed gingham curtains. They shiver the slightest bit, even though he swears he closed the windows tightly and flipped the latch. It’s a requirement these days, as summer curls into fall and the biting winds threaten to break the seal around his entrances.
“Seungminnie,” he says, carefully blank, eyes hollow. “I don’t think those are dogs.”
[Or: There’s something lurking in the woods behind Seungmin’s house. He’s going to find out what it is.]

“Seungminnie will obviously be a lovely, lovely beta. Seungmin can still remember the way his chest felt hollow, like it had already been decided, he was going to be a beta, which meant Jeongin would probably find an omega to settle down with, which means Seungmin won’t be the one he settles down with.
“No, I don’t think so.” Jeongin speaks up, and only then did Seungmin tear his stare off the ground to meet his eyes, “He’s got the puppy dog eyes of an omega, I think.”
Even Jeongin wants him to be an omega.
“I think that just means he’s a bottom.” Changbin shrugged.

“You- We’re dating, though?” Seungmin chokes out, his hand pausing in its circular pathway around Jeongin’s knee.
“Yes,” is all Jeongin says. He nips at the exposed skin of Seungmin’s throat, right on the side where it’s bare of makeup and lotion and whatever else Felix put on his face.
“You’re not gay?” Seungmin asks. They probably shouldn’t be having this conversation at a Halloween party, dressed up as one of the most toxic couples in comic book history. It had been funny when Jeongin suggested it — that they go as Harley and the Joker — because of Jeongin’s little possessive streak that he never admits to having. Now it just seems like a joke that only Seungmin gets.
Jeongin hums, his lips vibrating against Seungmin’s neck. “I’ve never really been attracted to men except for you.”
Jeongin keeps insisting he isn't gay. While he's dressed up as the Harley Quinn to Seungmin's Joker. With a hickey in the shape of Seungmin's teeth on his neck. Three years into their very romantic and homosexual relationship. Seungmin doesn't take that very lightly.

“I purred because I gave him a tape dispenser, and he used it.”
Chan just looked at him for a moment, “It sounds like your fox wants to court him, or subdue him, or something. You’re happy that you’re providing for him, at least, on a subconscious level.” Jeongin cringes, because that’s exactly what was going through his head when he gave Seungmin the tape.
