Summary
The thing is - Jungkook didn't mind being the maknae. Not at all. He liked the attention he was given just enough for it not to get overbearing and condescending. The only problem to being the youngest in the band was the fact that it also meant he was younger than Jimin - who couldn't take him seriously if his life depended on it.
Jungkook didn't mind being the maknae—
—but he did mind the fact Jimin would only ever consider him as someone the same age as his younger brother, never a love interest. Not after 2014.
When Jungkook wished he could be older than his hyung after another frustrating day, he wasn't exactly banking on it happening. So, naturally, it did.
