Dean hates the midnight shift, but what can he do? His relationship with Lisa didn't work out, and he couldn’t bear working with her anymore. He's running on coffee and four hours of sleep tops. He's so done with relationships. Nothing good ever comes out of it.
Castiel would agree. He is freshly on the wagon and off the street, where he lived after his personal and professional life fell apart. Working at the Gas-N-Sip may not be on his past level, but he is determined to make the best of it.

That resolve only lasted a few months, for that was the amount of time he could keep his mind his own. After that, she found her way in. It was said that once a Chupacabra finds their way into your mind, there is no return from it. That is why they are so good at hunting. They fall victim to the psychic invasion and practically roll over when one approaches.
Ketch would not roll over so easily.
