Summary
At 35, Ilya's life could not be going worse frankly. His best friend is asking for a divorce, he has a boring job and his boring co worker pities him enough to invite him to spend a few weeks with him and his family on their annual vacation to their summer cottage. And he's so pathetically lonely he accepts.
At 22, Shane has his whole life ahead of him. He's the captain of his university's hockey team, he's suspected to be the first draft pick in the MLH and he's able to maintain a 4.0 GPA on top of all that. His lack of a social life doesn't really bother him, he'll have time to date once he's achieved his life long dream. He's sure a girl will come along eventually.
OR Ilya is Shane's dad's hot co worker who ends up at the cottage one summer.

Connor reached out, praying his palms weren't sweating. "It's, uh, it's really nice to finally meet you, Mr. Arnaud. Thank you so much for having me. I know I'm sort of crashing the family vacation."
"Nonsense," François said softly as their hands met.
Connor looked at François’ face, tracing the lines around his eyes, the slight crinkle at the corner of his mouth. He found himself utterly hypnotized by the sheer, imposing presence of the man. Without realizing it, he let his hand linger, his fingers curving just slightly against the back of François' hand, holding the handshake for a second, maybe two, longer than socially necessary.
If François noticed it, he didn't pull away. Instead, his smile deepened, a subtle shift in the corners of his mouth. "And please, it’s François. 'Mr. Arnaud’ is my father. You are family here, Connor. Anyone who looks after my terrors so well is always welcome."

Yuna slides a folder on the table closer, pulling out two packets of paper. She’d gone all out with the contracts. Mainly, Shane suspected, to ease his nerves about the lines of the relationship. Plus, she was always nothing if not prepared.
She hands one contract to Shane, then another to Rozanov. “As a reminder, this is not legally binding. If either of you wants out early, can’t meet obligations, or wants to change things down the line, that is perfectly fine, and we can work with that. This just lays out the exact timeline of the relationship,” she begins, “down to the start and end dates."

So eight years later, after they both come out on their own, Yuna Hollander (momager of the century) decides that a PR relationship would be very beneficial for her son and his infamous rival.
