Summary
Going up to the NHL was supposed to be a new start. Everything would be different there.
It wasn't quite that simple, but Aaron had help to figure it out.

Summary
As they shook hands, Kyle flared his nostrils, and Tanner realized he must be an alpha. It flustered him a little. He’d mostly avoided the alphas in high school, but he didn’t want to be rude, and walking away mid-conversation would definitely be rude. Besides, maybe alphas in college weren’t such dicks. Kyle hadn’t shoved him into any lockers yet or anything.
“You with the fraternity?” Tanner asked, chagrined to think he might have been dissing the party to one of the hosts.
“This one?” Kyle snorted and pulled out his phone. “Absolutely not. We just come to the first party of the year to stake out the competition, you know?”
“The competition for pledges?”
“Something like that.”

Summary
The boy’s gaze flicked upwards when Hathus approached. He was only bold enough to look Hathus in the eye for a moment before hastily ducking his head. A trained slave wouldn’t have looked up at all, but for a captured soldier, his reaction was nearly demure. Hathus took note of the tie around his neck. The leather knot wasn’t pulled tight, as it would have been if he’d struggled, and the skin around his throat was unmarked. The boy hadn’t fought the leash.
“Stand,” Hathus said quietly. The boy didn’t respond.
The quartermaster clicked his tongue. “Willful.”
Hathus barely held back from rolling his eyes. If the boy was a conscript, he might have been drawn from one of the further reaches of the opposing empire. Gods only knew what language he spoke. He crouched down, startling the boy into looking up at him again.
“Stand,” he said, and gripped the boy by the shoulders, pulling him upwards. The boy scrambled to get his feet under him as soon as he realized what Hathus was doing. Not willful in the least, once he understood what was being ordered.

Summary
This patient was clearly more cooperative, as Dr. Bryant had hoped he would be. His chart marked him as a new involuntary acquisition, which was always a wild card, but he had surrendered himself to the intake facility at his appointed time after the foreclosure procedings had gone through, and he had been compliant with all instructions since then. Any non-compliance would have been written up by the orderlies, the same way Dr. Bryant would note any trouble the patient gave him during his initial exam.
"Good morning, Mr..." Dr. Bryant glanced at the patient's chart again to double-check the name, then set the clipboard on the desk to extend a hand. "Alex Martin, is it? I'm Dr. Bryant."

Summary
The story is set after Adam's movie but with a different ending, one where he remains in New York. It's also set kind of at the beginning of Charlie Countryman. If you've seen the latter movie, it will make sense.
Anyway, different first meeting with Spacedogs!
