Summary
Cats having nine lives is one of the oldest myths in existence. Cats do not truly have nine lives; when they die once, they do not come back. But Tsuburaya Norio is no ordinary cat, nor ordinary Madararui. He is a Return to Ancestry, of the bloodline of the originator of the myth. But having nine lives does not make you lucky, or immune to heartache and chaos.
It may be too much for Norio to bear.

It is 2024, and Yuta and Mana have adjusted to the ever-changing world in different ways. But as the pair try to find peace in their never-ending lives, they become aware of a viral video that has led to a sudden epidemic of violent deaths all across the globe. It becomes clear that the secret of immortality via eating mermaid’s flesh is no longer a secret, and there are far too many people willing to risk death to achieve this “gift”. As Yuta and Mana take it upon themselves to figure out how so many people obtained mermaid’s flesh worldwide, they uncover a conspiracy that threatens the existence of the human race.
And when they cross paths with a face from the past, they find their existence threatened as well.
