Summary
Shane Hollander can sometimes get very anxious and in his own head. This is especially true before major events that are happening in his life. When the anxiety starts to become too much he likes to visit museums to help him re-center. The quiet helps him get out of his head.
Just before the event that will change his whole hockey career Shane decides to visit Ottawa's National Gallery of Art. While there he discovers the statue of a curly haired young man with a mischievious smile. The smile seems to be something special just for Shane.A week later at the Prospect Cup Shane meets a young man that has the same hair and mischevious smile. Shane is immediatly drawn to him. This boy is Ilya Rozanov, Shanes biggest competition achieving everything he wants. He knows he should hate him, but he can't, that smile draws Shane in and makes him want to know about the boy with the smile.

“It’s consistent,” Ilya said, tapping the screen of his own phone. “Every report. Same pattern. It hits, it peaks, it burns out. Two, maybe three days.” He shrugged, like that settled it. “We wait it out. No problem.”
Shane dragged a hand through his hair. “That’s not the part I’m stuck on.”
Ilya huffed a quiet laugh. “You’re going to be omega,” he said, as he’d already decided it. “You’re already halfway there.” There was a flicker of something amused in his expression. “I’ll handle it. You’ll be fine.”
