Summary
Months after Chase's death, Robert is still running on fumes and bad coping mechanisms. His job forces him into a weekly grief support group in Torrance, to keep him upright, less drunk, and employed. There, he meets someone who's suffered equal (or even greater) loss, and starts rebuilding himself from scratch.
Or: Boy meets girl, but they are both angry and depressed as fuck and end up helping each other out of it. And it's omegaverse.

“Hi,” you croak. Your fingers curl in his sweatshirt. He smells something faintly familiar, like a memory. Clean, paper-like. A morning when it’s cold. Jasmine, but not a chemical one. The dampness of old graveyards and churches. You smell like grief.
“I’m sorry for your loss,” he whispers. Your eyes meet when you pull back. There’s a smile.
“I’m sorry for yours,” you tell him and rub his shoulders. He welcomes it. Apparently it’s not about losing the same person. It’s about losing the same calibre of a figure from your life. As gruesome as it sounds, he feels wanted here. For the first time in months, Robert feels wanted somewhere, even though he hasn’t uttered a word about himself.Bookmarked by TunaRaw
