Alexis despises Yoichi.
(He has been very clear about this, repeatedly, while inside him.)
“Good morning,” Michael says, in the tone of someone who’s been awake for hours and finds this personally virtuous. “We’re going out tonight. Tell Yoichi.”
Alexis goes very still.
“Tell him yourself.”
“I’m telling you.”
“Why,” Alexis says, with the careful enunciation of someone choosing each word precisely, “would Yoichi be reachable through me?”
A pause. The particular kind Michael deploys when he’s letting someone else’s sentence hang in the air long enough to hear how it sounds. “I don’t know, Alexis. Why would he be?”
“He wouldn’t. That’s my point. I don’t know where Yoichi is.”
“Mm.”
“I don’t keep track of Yoichi.”
“Of course not.”

Summary
Michael’s eyes have the same drugged gaze he used to have as a baby when he nursed- besotted, almost as though the milk was welling up in his head, making it loll to the side on the weak, milky bough of his neck from the weight of his indulgence, and Isagi would prop him up closer and cup the back of his head to support his vulnerable baby.
The vulnerability, the trusting of Michael’s drunken state to his mother, the moment he showed how helpless he was. That was when Isagi knew he would never have a love like this again.

“Have you ever scented before?” Isagi’s voice is light, almost playful, pulling Reo back to the present.
Reo finally responds with a shake of his head, his gaze still fixed on the spot where the scent is strongest, unable to pull away.
Isagi giggles, the sound soft and reassuring. “I’ll guide you through it, don’t worry.” He removes his shoes with a practiced ease, then walks up to the bed, sitting on the edge of the soft mattress. He beckons Reo with a gentle wave. “Come on, what are you waiting for?”
