Summary
A sigh escapes from between Nami’s lips. She looks to the man next to her who also lets out a breath.“You ready?”
“Ready as we’ll ever be. What do you think we’ll find this time?” Ace raises his hand to knock on the door. He starts out with three polite knocks.
They wait.
“Wanna bet on it?” She does what she can to make the situation they find themselves in a little less concerning. Even though their resident idiot hasn’t been heard nor seen from in about four days. It’s not totally unheard of for Zoro to just drop off the radar, but usually he would at least shoot someone a message to let them know he’s alright.
Ace places his hand to his chin. “Hm. Passed out on the couch.”
Nami thinks for a moment, back to the other times they’ve had to do this, what seems the most likely? “And we’re sure he’s here?”
“Saw his bike downstairs.” Ace shrugs.
“Bedroom floor.”

Summary
As he sank back into the darkness of the tunnel, he quietly let the guards shackle his ankles. They were wary of him as always—he didn’t know why. This had been going on for decades; he’d never done anything to them. Right now, he just wanted to get back to his room.
Seeing the sun today was enough.
Soon, another sun—far brighter—his own sun, would rise. Along with a basket of food he knew would be incredible. And above all, he would see the person he longed for most.

Summary
Mihawk spent years training slaves for other men.
He knew exactly how obedience was built: consistency, structure, reward, fear. Most broke eventually. Some faster than others.
Roronoa Zoro should have been impossible to train.
Half-dead when Mihawk acquires him from Doflamingo, Zoro is violent, distrustful, and held together by nothing except stubborn pride and survival instinct. He expects cruelty. Punishment. Ownership disguised as care.
Instead, Mihawk gives him rules.
Food. Medical treatment. Choice where there should not be choice.
And worst of all:
patience.
But safety built inside a cage is still a cage, and the line between recovery and conditioning begins blurring long before either of them realizes it.Series
