    Summary

    Y/N Holmes had never fit.

Not at home in the sprawling Sussex house with its cold marble floors and colder expectations. Not at her private school, where girls wore blazers like armor and smiled like knives. Not even in her own family — a genetic misprint between two prodigies and a mother who could recite Greek tragedies in the original language before breakfast.

Mycroft Holmes had been reading the Times at age three. Sherlock Holmes had dismantled his first alarm clock at seven and never looked back. Y/N Holmes once failed a maths test so badly the teacher gently asked if she’d taken anything.

She had her father’s brain. Which was to say, a perfectly normal one. Unfortunately, normal was a crime in the Holmes household.

So when she was caught behind the gym with a girl from the local public school, backs against cold brick, sharing a joint and laughing too loudly, it was not treated as teenage stupidity. It was treated as a failure.

    OR

Y/N is depressed and its not getting better.

There was something amiss with (Y/N); she seemed too perfect - too aware of how she presented herself. She was a mystery, never letting too much information about herself be revealed to those around her. A warm smile, with vacant, distant eyes. Powerful, but never putting 100% into anything, almost as if…

…she wanted to just, blend in. As she was told to.

"You know one thing." They close the book and tuck it under their arm. "You know I summoned you for a reason."

"Hmm, do I?" Alastor taps his chin, taking another bold step forward. The human doesn't back away. Nor do they cower as he continues his advance until he stands right in front of them, having to bend low to meet their gaze. He places a single finger under their chin—noting their subtle flinch—and tilts it up to better look at their face. He asks, “What makes you think that, my dear?”

“Your eyes.” They look over his face, seemingly taking everything in. “They showed interest. Otherwise you’d’ve killed me by now.”

    Oh, he likes this human.

    Summary

You finished teacher training and came back to your hometown of Hawkins, Indiana, so you can support your parents. You wanted to become an English teacher for years, and finally had the qualifications for it, now employed at Hawkins High, a place you knew like the back of your hand. As a young teacher, you quickly became a favorite among the teens. You also became the new dungeon master to the Hellfire Club since the old one graduated and the kids were looking for a new one. One day in spring, you notice your student, Chrissy Cunningham, acting unusual, and when you offer your help, you end up scarred for life.
