Summary
When she was nearly 18, she found the laws of thermodynamics ten subfolders deep in her Focus’s archive. She learned that for every action in nature there is an equal and opposite reaction, a cause balanced to every effect.
She comes to wonder if Nil is what she has brought into this world, as payment for her wrongs.

I will forever be trying to write this way. I've never encountered a story like this—not in the TLOU fandom, not anywhere. There are details I've never seen anyone include, from the strangest aftereffects of trauma to the specifics of a humanity that's been weathered down to the bone. On top of that, perfect pacing; a neutral, evenhanded narrative voice that calmly states the worst; some stunning individual lines; and a progression through disconnected possible futures that nonetheless carries a plot. Most highly recommended. Read this.

When Garrus seeks help figuring out something romantic to do for Shepard, it's Vega who comes up with the idea of learning to tango. What starts out as simple dance lessons spins somewhat out of control--in the best possible ways.

A behind-the-scenes look at events leading up to Garrus & Shepard's dance in Citadel. Excellent character-writing and integration of new scenes into existing canon. Exceptional dialogue and very good description. Highly recommended.

Summary
Miranda had a plan. A nice, easy plan to have it out with Jack in the comfort of her own cabin when Shepard finally stopped hovering like a worried mother hen. They would beat each other senseless. There would be insults. And it would be bloody glorious.
But then they made it back from that one-way trip, and things changed. Miranda changed. Jack changed. And somewhere along the line, a mutual desire to bash each other’s heads in turned into something strange and very, very messy.
And Miranda doesn’t have a plan for that.

An excellent close third-person story, with notable detours into the omniscient. A vivid look into the mind of a character. Immaculate editing and a uniquely sharp style of description, with truly exceptional dialogue and character-writing. A professional work. Highly recommended.

Summary
In every life, you have to make trade-offs. Shepard has always been at peace with what she's given up to be who and what she is, mostly because she's focused her attention on everything but her own personal life. Even her dearest friends know that she will always, to some degree, hold them at arm's length.
But the war has a way of burning everyone down to their most essential selves, and in the end even Shepard can't help seeing, finally, what she wants, what she needs--and what she may have lost.
