Jinx was dead. She'd been dead for a few days, actually. She'd only just reunited with Ekko as a ghost beyond the grave, and gone to bed with him with the single promise of how she'd always be there for him.
Turns out the universe had other plans for her. After her "sleep" she finds herself in an all too familiar body, not only alive, but younger too. She was Powder again, and she was standing in the middle of Jayce's workshop on the day of the heist that started everything.

Jinx had been living with Silco for what seemed close to a year now, at the age of eleven years. She tried to be as useful as she could to the crime-lord, doing her best to impress him. Her latest creation is supposed to be her biggest and most spectacular invention yet; a bomb that actually works. No cheating with magical rocks this time!
Unfortunately, it doesn't go as planned...
After an unforseen accident, Silco brings Jinx to the only man who has a glimmer of hope of saving his… daughter?
Jinx's survival depends on the Doctor who had once saved his life, but this time it would take a miracle. Or, to Silco's surprise, an amount of Shimmer no one was supposed to survive. He could only hope that that wasn't the case this time...

Summary
Months after their fight in Janna's temple, and the tragedy that ensued, Jinx follows in Vi's footsteps and starts pitfighting with the hope she'll get the chance to face her sister so she can put an end to her miserable life. When Jinx gets thrown into a fight that she wasn't prepared for, two familiar faces are there to pick her up and try to save her from herself (and maybe save themselves in the process).

“‘Take care of her,’” Jinx finally whispers into the darkness of the room. Caitlyn’s eyes pop back open, and she stares at Jinx questioningly. “That’s what Vi said… before she… before she let go,” she answers, her voice trembling at the end. Swallowing hard, Caitlyn’s eyes fill with grief and tears. She looks away and hastily wipes at them. “Figured the least I could do was make sure you didn’t die tripping over a carpet,” Jinx mumbles, making a poor attempt at a joke. Caitlyn nods, tries to speak, but a sob is all that comes out. She covers her mouth and turns away.

S2E9 alternate ending: inspired by the early concept art of Vi falling instead of Jinx. In the wake of Vi's death, Jinx and Caitlyn must both learn how to move on without her. Forging new lives with new friendships. While Caitlyn is slowly swallowed up by grief and guilt, Jinx remains determined to honor her sister's dying wish. It may not be easy, but maybe both of them can find a way out of this together. If they don't kill each other first.
