    Summary

Wei Wuxian dashes across the distance that separates him from his husband, like a child running through the dark as if that would lessen its existence. He grabs Lan Zhan’s hand and holds the arm close to his side, to a soft breath of laughter.

“Come on, Hanguang-jun,” he half-whispers, because the atmosphere seems to call for it. “Light the way for us.”

(Wei Wuxian has scarcely known fear to be gentle — and still. It's as if there’s something murmuring down the hallway, behind the closed door, next to the window in this howling storm: I’m here, I’m here, I’ve always been here…)

Or, as Wei Wuxian starts to look into the reasons behind the unsettling notion that something is not quite right, something else starts to look back.

    Summary

A fun night at an inn. A night-hunt gone wrong. A simple mistake, made by whom? No one knows. Not Lan Sizhui, who had just been so tired. Not Lan Jingyi, who had been so scared. Not Jin Ling, who had been so brash. Not Ouyang Zizhen, who had been so proud to help. And not Wei Wuxian, who only knows one thing: Lan Wangji is dying, and no one knows what to do about it and whether or not he is ever going to wake up again.

Lan Xichen thought he had already hit rock bottom. He soon learns that he can still feel even worse. That he has still something – someone – left to lose.
Jiang Cheng thought he could finally stop caring. He was wrong, but now it may be too late, and no one seems to be left who even wants him to care.

Morale at Cloud Recesses is in shambles as feelings of guilt, fear, worry, anger, sorrow and pain culminate, either to end in violent disaster or to offer a chance to heal, to grow and to bridge gaps between people destined to always be connected to each other.

    Summary

Thirteen years is a long time to spend grieving for a dead man. Even longer to realise that the ache you feel inside your breastbone won’t go away, no matter how hard you try to move on.

The seasons - they come and go, years start to blur together and Lan Wangji finds himself lost in moments like these ones, looking out the window of the Jingshi towards the night sky. He swallows down the lump in his throat, eyelids weighted and scratchy from too much emotion that loving a dead man brings.

Still, he waits with the hopes that one day the universe would be kind enough to return to him the man he loves.

(or, lan wangji’s pov of waiting 13 years for wei wuxian to return and then what happens after they meet again.)
