Summary
Louise Hall works at the front desk of her mothers inn, but one chilly fall day she finds a young boy on the banks of the St. Croix river. He fell into the river during a logging accident, and needs to get back home to Canoose, NB. Louise takes it upon herself to get the young boy (Jack) home, riding along the St. Croix river. Things don't go as planned, forcing jack and Louise into tough situations they can't handle alone. What was supposed to be a week trip to Canada and back is now something a bit more traitorous and unexpected. From meddling trappers, to encountering Passamaquoddy Native Americans at just the right times, to packs of wild coyotes, nothing goes quite as planned.
