Stiles' way of dealing with his own pain and grief had always been to instead take care of others. After Gerard, the Hale Pack becomes his pet-project. That includes self-proclaimed lone wolf Peter.
Then things get messy. The Hale Pack seemingly ends when Derek gives up the Alpha spark, the McCall Pack forms, Stiles gets possessed. And, confusingly enough, Peter takes care of him.

The alpha pack comes to town and Stiles piques their interest. His own pack doesn't treat him as such, the alphas decied he needs to be taken care of and they all enjoy him taking care of them.

"I don't usually have someone protecting me." Stiles whispers loudly still smiling and though his heart gives no sign of a lie his scent does sour a bit at the end indicating something that will require some looking into.
"Perhaps not." Deucalion says, still thinking about that scent hanging in the air. "But perhaps you should." He says and can practically taste the tension that shoots through the boy next to him.

The pack has been getting on lately, now that everything crazy has stopped.
Peter's out of town on business for the weekend that the pack is training at Derek's.
And Stiles?
Well, Stiles is left out of the training as, according to the pack, his clumsiness gets in the way of their training and they don't want him hurt.Well, since they don't want to train with him, he figures he'll just go train with someone else.
Of course, this leads to mayhem and the pack finding out what he actually is~!
Plus, when Peter comes back it turns out he already knew what Stiles was. Go figure.
