"Jane."
In the darkness, Lisbon reached out, searching.
The cold bite of metal handcuffs startled her. And then she remembered where she was.
A hand beside her grabbed her wrist. Metal clinked.
"Is that you, Jane?" She couldn't see anything. Only breathing. Then arms—familiar, warm—wrapped around her.
"You can't keep me in here, Jane." Her voice trembled.
"It's safe here, Teresa. Don't worry." His voice sounded strange. But she could hear the smile in it. He thought he'd done it this time. "You're safe, Teresa. Don't leave here. Don't leave me. We'll stay here forever, okay?"

Jane woke from a dazed sleep. He had forgotten what day it was. All he remembered was opening that door. Seeing Lisbon. A blood-red smiling face staring back at him. His phone rang. A message appeared. Jane suddenly remembered what day it was.
Or: Something happened to Lisbon. In his devastation, Jane found himself thrown back in time. Things seemed different now. Did he have a chance to mend what was broken? To fix the mistakes and the relationship that went wrong?
