Summary
Alan saved two of Basil’s belongings, took it to his home, not able to bring himself to abandon it at Dorian’s hellish house and let that place swallow last memory of the painter. One of them was Basil’s glove, too thin for this weather-it looked more fit for opera, but it was old and unused, crumpled, stuck into the pocket.
Inside of his jacket, he found something much more meaningful: a letter. It was unsealed; not ready to send yet- or maybe it was never meant to be read. Writing on envelope simply read “For Harry”, the name underlined twice, drawing his attention to neat, tight letters.

Summary
“The picture we found,” Shahara says quickly, before they can start arguing. “With you and Defoe.” Posed together as lovers at first glance but on second inspection, with Defoe rather obviously already dead and Hillinghead seemingly out of his mind. It'd sent a chill down Shahara's spine.
“They used it to convict me. For killing Defoe and being a...” Alfred trails off, his eyebrows furrowing like he's considering different words he could use and thinking better of all of them.
The corner of Karl's lip twitches up but Shahara silences him with a firm gesture of the hand.
“A homosexual?” she offers and Alfred nods, slow and solemn.
“They were wrong,” Iris says, sharp but not unkind. She should know, she's the one who shot Defoe that one time.
“Well,” Alfred says. He puts his hands on the table, squares his shoulders. “They were wrong about me killing Defoe.”

Summary
The vicomte has lost his wife and subsequently everything else. A recluse hiding within the rooms of his dead father’s house, he resigns himself to alcohol and does his best to blunt the residual pain. Months of numbness pass before he thinks that the opera ghost might like to hear the news of Christine’s death. He’s not the only one who thinks so: he receives a note from Madame Giry that, just like him, the opera ghost is wasting away, dying below the streets of Paris. Giry tasks the vicomte with retrieving the dying ghost to save his life, but the vicomte has other plans: to put the wretched creature out of its misery once and for all.
It does get happy.

Summary
In which Jekyll and Hyde have managed to split themselves into two separate, physical beings and are now leading equally separate lives. Jekyll in the familiar safety of his home and Hyde out on the streets, still having to lay low somewhere for having committed one not so nice murder on a respected member of society. But in the end, being separate, hasn´t turned out to be as great of a blessing, as they might have initially thought. Sound sleep, for example, has become inexplicably harder to get.
Or: Two angsty, hopeless insomniacs meet in the kitchen in the middle of the night and decide to do something about it.
