Kristoph Gavin was content with his life as it was. He was an upstanding defense attorney, one of the best in the district. He lived in a nice suburban house with his dog. Sure, his relationship with his younger brother could be better and his only other companion is a disbarred defense attorney but all in all he is happy with his life.
All that changes the day he meets and defends Apollo Justice, a 17 year old angry punk child accused of Grand Larceny.
This is the story of how a straight-laced defense attorney learns to let go a little and how a punk child learns what his worth in this life is.

Summary
Phoenix shows absolutely no signs of leaving anytime soon. He takes off his shoes in the entryway, and Apollo tries not to scream - don’t get him wrong, he doesn’t wear shoes in the house either, but he doesn’t want Phoenix in his house. On the other hand, his boss seems both perfectly happy to stay and adamant that he's going to do so.
"You’re hiding something about Thalassa," Phoenix says. "And that concerns me because of Trucy - but also, because I’m worried about you. You won’t have much luck getting me to leave until you talk to me, kid.”
Apollo scoffs. “For a lawyer, you don’t seem to have much of a concept of trespassing.”

Summary
Apollo was not lost in the fire that took Jove's life. Instead, he'd been with Thalassa. This means that when she returned to Troupe Gramarye, he goes with her. He grows up as a magician, despite Magnifi disapproval.
But then Thalassa "dies" (despite Magnifi's suspicious words and tells), then Magnifi dies, and Zak disappears. It falls to Phoenix Wright to adopt and raise the Gramarye siblings.
What does this change?
This is the first in the series, and ends just before Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney starts.

Trucy doesn't know how to explain what's happening to her family, but something's not right, and she needs to fix it. She finds hope in a photograph, showing an old friend of her daddy's.
Trucy is determined to track down this 'friend' -- Miles Edgeworth.
And, she's willing to travel internationally without parental consent to bring him back to the States.
This is an awful plan.
