Stede’s head snaps to him, brows raised in alarm.
“Are you alright?” He asks. “Are you feeling well?”
“Just fine,” Ed forces out, gripping the sheets on Stede’s bed till his knuckles go white. “Goodness, is that a stain by your thumb? You should look at that for a bit.”
But Stede’s already turned his attention, lowering the cravat to look over Ed’s body with a concerned frown. His eyes flicker to Ed’s face, then chest, then legs. When he sees where his cravat has ended up, the perplexed look on his face vanishes.
“Oh.” His cheeks go red. “That’s a sight, indeed.”
