You were angry. You loved your old college and your old town; now, you’re stuck in this shitty place called Shudder Main. It doesn't help that a group of killers also moved into town not long after you did. Between performing autopsies on the victims and trying to save the ones who are almost dead, you’ve developed a mind-consuming curiosity about these killers.
You would never want to meet them in person, but once they’re dead, you wouldn't mind looking into their brains. If only odd things would stop happening to you.

It’s the late 90‘s/early 2000‘s and you’ve just moved all the way from Missouri to southern Appalachia in Alabama. Having moved to a tiny apartment complex with whatever money you scraped together from your last job you settled down in a dangerous small town surrounded by thick acres of seemingly never ending forest. People here go missing all the time, but hey, it’s better than staying at your abusive dads place right?
You’re an adult now, you can take care of yourself. Yes, your car broke down and you now have to take the bus to work but your neighbours seem nice, even if one of them is a bit weird and seems to love staring at you. Your boss is a bit rude but you think you’ll like it at your new job, even if strange things keep happening at your gas station. You’ll learn to love it here, it’s your new home.
