For once, Varian’s calculations were correct.
After taking the Moonstone, Cassandra returns to Corona in search of Demanitus’s scroll.
Except Corona is gone.
In its place stands New Saporia: a kingdom whose people have forgotten their history, their loved ones, and even its name after the Quirineon wiped their memories clean.No one remembers Cassandra.
Now she has a choice: take advantage of a kingdom too vulnerable to stop her—or fight once again for people who always looked down on her, and no longer even remember it.

Soon after, Cassandra takes the Moonstone and disappears.Months later, she returns to Corona. By the time she vanishes again, the king is dead at her hands. And when Cassandra is finally captured, Rapunzel can only watch from her balcony as she is led to the gallows for crimes no one can forgive.
She has every reason to let the execution proceed.

Set after Once a Handmaiden.
Except that after being hit by the Obsidian Project, Cassandra didn’t spiral into full-on destruction. She just… went back to hiding in her tower.
And Rapunzel has no intention of letting it end there.---
Rapunzel has a plan.
It’s a very good, very smart plan.She’s going to use the shapeshift cloak to disguise herself as Zhan Tiri, get close to Cassandra, and finally understand what’s going on in her silly head.
The problem is, Cassandra doesn't buy it at all, but she is absolutely going to let this play out. -
