Something inside Owen shifted—one second, he was alerted to her presence with a pounding heart, and the next he was by her side, instinctively hiding her body behind his, an arm protectively held up in front of her.

“Like you care,” the mysterious Myers replies. Unlike Steve’s kind tone, this masked stranger speaks low and monotone, showing clear disinterest.
