Summary
Lucifer finds Alastor attempting suicide after a deal gone wrong, Lucifer wants to know why and how Vox is involved. Alastor just wants to be left alone so he can end it all with what little dignity he has left.

Alastor goes into heat while in Vox's captivity, but that means nothing. There's nothing Vox can do--not humiliation, not torture, not rape--that will make him break. Alastor will emerge victorious, as he always does, even over his own instincts.
To do otherwise would be to lose himself in entirety.

Summary
For as far back as he could remember home didn't feel safe. Home was isolating, surrounded by almost desolate land. Dead grass, dirt and swamp-like pits were fun for exploring, but not many other children to interact with and play. He spent most of his time with mama, he could remember the arguments she would have with papa and he would sulk when sent to his room.
The shouting and banging was annoying, why can't his parents be good parents, like in his story books.or
Alastor reflects on his childhood, from his early years to adulthood. His relationships with his mama, papa and how he came to be the demon he is today.

Summary
They glance at each other for a moment and then Alastor is taking Lucifer’s hand again and dragging him down the street and into an old cemetery. They weave through rows of above ground tombs, snaking around until Alastor stops at a park-like center. He tugs Lucifer to sit down on a stone bench with him under an enormous old cypress tree, its branches heavy with curtains of Spanish moss. Neither lets go of the other's hand.
“The sun’s gonna come up soon,” Lucifer sighs after a while.
Alastor hums, just starting to get his breathing back under control. “Do you vanish at the first touch of the dawn’s rays?”
“Nah,” Lucifer chuckles. “Vampires aren’t real.”
Alastor's smile is softened by moonlight. “Says the Devil himself who sits beside me.”
This night has been far more wonderful than Lucifer could ever have anticipated. He hasn’t felt this good in… he doesn’t want to think about how long. And he knows he will soon have to return to his chaotic realm and his strained marriage and his lonely existence… but not yet. He doesn't have to leave just yet.
