Summary
Cypher goes on a bit of a healing journey. He is not one for admitting his own flaws or being vulnerable but, his peers, who are becoming increasingly irritated with his self neglectfulness, are pushing him to open up and be better. He has to battle with himself and decide whether he wants to feel okay again or if he wants to let himself rot away in turmoil and be lonesome for the rest of his life, regretting past choices and letting his trauma haunt him. This might be his most difficult assignment in the protocol so far.

Summary
A mission on Haven goes wrong, leading to the team being critically injured. With the situation devolving, Sova has to make the hard decision to get himself and a nearly dead Jett back to base - but Cypher is left behind. He is presumed dead by the Protocol, leading to Sova's suspension. He is advised by Sage to take a trip home to visit his babushka over the New Year instead of remaining at the Protocol.
Act I actually follows the summary.
Act II will start with some fluff and then it will get worse before it gets worse.the smut is in chapter 32 if that is all you are looking for

After Connor came back from his great revolution, a shiny new RK900 appeared and he's being forced to partner with it. All it does is remind him of how far behind he is.
The increasingly annoying malfunctions and the new case of brutal android "murders" aren’t helping either.
Gavin might be an android too, but he hated them. They have no idea what it means to be alive.
