Modern AU. Levi is an accountant with a pretty simple lifestyle. After loosing his wife of one and a half years, he had to learn to cope with being alone once again. It wasn't until he met Eren that he realized that he could move forward and be happy again, without Petra in his life. However, Levi wasn't the only one who was broken when they first met in Rhode Island Hospital. "It's okay," Eren had said, and from there, everything changed for the both of them.

Kaiden was a police officer who was struck in the back of the skull with a heavy object while out on a call. He was forced into a coma for about two years, and just when his mother was deciding to pull the plug, he started to show signs of waking up.
Stephan and Kaiden were engaged before the accident. When Kaiden woke up, he didn't remember anything aside from who he and Stephan were in their sophomore year in high school. Stephan had been the gay pretty boy that no one had paid attention to, and Kaiden had been the popular big shot track star that everyone loved and adored. He just wasn't as straight as he thought he was, in the end.
However, when he woke up, he didn't remember. He had first fell in love with Stephan's voice, and after an event that left him without vocal cords, he could no longer speak in the way that Kaiden could.
Upon waking up from his coma, Kaiden didn't remember that. He thought Stephan was some sort of freak; that's where the accusations come in. -

six months of this. of almost. of hands reaching and pulling back. of closed doors and warm mornings and kisses that say everything neither of them has figured out how to say out loud yet. of columbina looking at her like she hung something and sandrone looking away before she has to decide what to do about it.
the deal made sense. the deal was clean. the deal did not account for tuna sandwiches remembered without asking, or 1x1 photos kept in ID holders, or being walked to practice like a pretty princess by someone with embarrassingly red ears.

"I'm not—Ineffa, stop." Jahoda pressed her hands to her face. "We're not dating. We've never been dating."
Silence. When Jahoda looked up, Ineffa had gone completely still, the tray trembling slightly in her hands.
