Summary
They mated. No matter how Raoul puts it, he and Erik are now bound for life. Though, him being the wolf and Erik most assuredly not, leaves some things to be desired. Most notably, Erik not being bound to him.
He tries. He really does, but his primal instinct is stronger than logic and reason at times. All he can do is stick around and see if his vampire mate will warm up to him. He will make it work. By God, he will, for he refuses to be one of those wolves that ends up in perpetual heartache over a mate that doesn't want him. He really, really does not want that.

For the record, I started out wanting to explore the interesting themes behind mask-wearing but as per usual, completely derailed. Before, they were only as close as Billy let anyone get, but lately the distance between them has been shrinking. He’s not the kind of guy who likes to talk about himself. Mostly he listens, prods, collects, but never offers. He learned young that when you’ve got a brain like he does you can’t afford to tell people what you’re thinking or how you really feel. Stu isn’t one of those people though, Stu has to keep his thoughts secret too and now this is theirs to keep, between them.
This is mostly only going to be in cannon with the first movie (the movie 3 retcon is not for me), but may also diverge in some places, especially when we get to the events closer to the end of the first movie. More specific tags and warnings will be in the end of chapter notes.Series
