AKA your average simon-crashlands-on-Erid fic but with a fairly aquatic twist! Very gorey, I actually gagged while writing it which I think speaks to the tone of at least the first chapter. I'll be messing around a lot with the themes of humanity and the effects of being connected to something that hurt you. Will probably update semi-regularly if I don't get burnt out, but this shit has been plaguing my brain for a good while now so maybe we'll get somewhere who knows!!!

Crimson drowned the peaceful twilight of the night sky–the final act in a long, drawn out drama performing for the champion. The Blood Moon rose, and Zelda spoke as she had during the Calamity. Her voice sounded dead. But maybe that was just the champion’s twisting perception.
“What the hell is that?” The sword spirit jumped down from his perch on the cliff.
An old nightmare. The champion had pushed himself off as well, landing next to his partner.
“Skychild, do not talk to me in riddles. If you still refuse to explain important details after all I just–”
“It’s okay–it’s something I think we both need. Just watch.”
As the puffs of smoke cleared, leaving previously slain beasts in their wake, the champion went to work on the reviving monster camp—an obsidian black sword in tow.
