Seven months have passed since you graduated from law school. Summa Cum Laude. Passed the Bar with flying colours. Deemed “most likely to succeed” by your peers. You hung up that diploma like it held all your hopes and dreams. Now, seven months later, staring blankly at the diploma on your wall, you’re still unemployed, still living with your college roommate in a shitty two-bedroom apartment with no centralized heating and a shower that doesn’t have hot water between the hours of 11:00 PM and 4:00 AM.

You stand, but not before the man opposite of you also stands. You blink owlishly. It’s the handsome man from the convenience store. He looks at you then, eyes widening when he recognizes you.
