There was a strange, obsessive quality in Severus’s glittering black eyes, as though he wanted to tear her apart and put her back together. That’s what he was doing, she supposed. And she knew better to tell an academic that something wasn’t possible. Perhaps she had done it on purpose.
“Tell me to stop,” he said, almost a challenge, “and I shall.”
She wilted. “Well, no,” Hermione admitted, “I don’t want you to stop, I just—”
His mouth was on hers, kissing fiercely, tongue in her mouth. She moaned, tasting herself. When he drew back, the obsessiveness had evolved into something sharper. Hungrier. More dangerous.
“Tell me to stop,” he said, more emphatically, “or I won’t.”

Instead: “Stupid fucking girl.” Ragged. Furious. Then: “How dare you ask that of me.”
“There’s no one else,” she said, and although her voice was thick her eyes were still dry. “No one will have me.”

Summary
An anthology of one-shots tracing what might have been between Lily Evans and Severus Snape, if they had chosen each other.
Recent chapters:
Chapter 2: June 1978. Lily Evans gets a Muggle job while Severus Snape does nothing at all, and somehow the war they're both hiding from finds her anyway.
Chapter 3: Early 1980. Lily and Severus hide from the war, then from each other, and finally from despair.
Chapter 4: October 1975. Lily spends five days convincing Severus to visit Hogsmeade, and one afternoon learning she shouldn't have asked and that firewhisky solves nothing.
Chapter 5: 1991 school year. Professor Snape (née Evans) is faced with James Potter's and Marlene McKinnon's child, her own avoidance, and the difference between caring and actually doing something.
Chapter 6: August 1979. Lily and Severus try fleeing the Wizarding War on forged passports for France with Majorca as a stopover, and accompanied by the Dursley's, they discover that the hardest border to cross is the one between leaving and staying.
These serve as epilogues to Septennium and Novennial, but can work as standalone pieces.
