    "Stop stressing out so much, pretty boy. You look as good as always," Suguru says off-handedly, glancing at his own reflection to tuck a piece of his own hair behind his ear. At the subsequent surprised silence, Suguru glances back at Satoru. "What?"

    Satoru blinks. Once, twice.

    "You think I'm pretty?"

    Suguru's hand stills an inch away from his ear.

    "Huh?"

    "You think I'm pretty?" Satoru repeats, his head tilted ever so slightly to the side.

    Suguru thinks he might be sweating. "Well, you're a model," he finally manages to get out. "I'm sure that's not the first time you've heard that."

    "But you think I'm pretty?" Satoru insists, and faced with such a bright and earnest stare, Suguru can do nothing but swallow dryly.

    "Sure," he says quietly, pulling his eyes away. "Yeah, I do."

    “Satoru, behave,” comes Suguru’s chiding voice from the kitchen.

    Satoru gapes. “What?”

    Suguru’s head pokes out. “Not you, I was talking to the cat.”

    “The cat?”

    The cat in question is staring balefully at Satoru. He doesn’t look half-bad—once dried out, his fur had fluffed up to nearly double its overall size, and with his eyes open, Satoru can see they’re an unusual shade of blue.

    “Yeah,” Suguru responds, and there’s an unspoken obviously in his tone.
