"I work here, you oaf," Aerion mutters, a soft roll of his eyes following as he watches Duncan for a reaction. Katsuki accepts to honor his alma mater, definitely not because imagining that damn nerd isolating himself with guilt makes his chest feel like he just got out of surgery again.
The hastily rebuilt dorms welcome him back, this time to the teacher’s floor, and Izuku is too close again, just like when they were kids. He still sucks the air out of a room, is still magnetic even in his grief, even if this Izuku who lives to teach and not to save is someone Katsuki can’t fucking figure out how to talk to anymore.
But Katsuki is a problem solver. He can work on that, and he can find this sick bastard and stop him from killing again—as soon as he figures out why Izuku is disappearing through his goddamn window every night.
