It wasn’t as if Patroclus wasn’t talking to him, was mean to him or he deprived him of his attention, which would be the worst in all of those things; no, he was the exact opposite of all those things. He was perfect in every single aspect, he was everything anyone could want from a partner.
Yet it did not stop Achilles from feeling like he was watching a one-man-theatre when he was talking to him.
Achilles is worried about his relationship with Patroclus, his worries come true.

Summary
Achilles was not sure if there were words to describe his way of looking at him, was not sure even if he knew them, even if there were. It always felt like he was looking at the very core of Achilles, as if his grey, gloomy gaze pierced through his skin and nerves and bones, as if he saw something much deeper inside him, something even he did not know existed. His gaze felt crushing and caressing at the same time, as if it was something addictive but life destroying at the same time. He felt ashamed, wanting to cover up into modesty every time Patroclus looked at him, yet at the same time he yearned to peel every single layer of clothing to get him to see more of Achilles. He felt blood rush up to the back of his neck and ears, his hands wrapping themselves in his golden curls. Patroclus was looking now. Patroclus was looking at him.
Achilles has missed Patroclus a week prior to their reunion, so they have to make do.

Hunger had always been there. In this form or another, from the moment he could remember himself, the emptiness inside him had been there. Food had not satisfied; neither women, nor men. Wine had not hushed the evergrowing flame he could not name inside him, burning his insides, charring his bones from the inside out. Hunger was evergrowing, it had never not been; and he had no idea how to satisfy it. It was not greed, he knew, as if there was never enough to satisfy him, let alone overindulge.

Summary
Nothing had ever come this natural to Achilles before. Kissing Patroclus felt like the most normal thing in the world as if it was in his genetic code, etched in his mind from the day he was born. He had kissed a lot of other people before and none of them had been this perfect without a brief period of learning about the person in front of him. With Patroclus, though, he somehow knew the next move immediately, how he would lick inside his mouth and where, where his hands would grab next; what kind of noise he would make when Achilles touched a particularly pleasant place. He felt completely safe and known in Patroclus’ embrace, as little sense as it made.
One thing about Achilles? He could have never guessed he would be absolutely smitten with a stranger with a strange name he met in a museum.

Summary
It was not the part of pretending to be a woman, not so much as feeling like a songbird in a golden cage. The palace was beautiful, Pyrrha was safe here, with anything that anyone could ever want. No obligation to go to war, bleed or bruise, waste away in a desert, killing months, years over a war that was not even his. But it was a fancy prison in the end, and Achilles did not belong here. He belonged to the endless pine trees of the forests of Phthia’s great mountains, barefoot, laughing breathlessly, making fun of Patroclus for not being able to catch up. He belonged to the immense shore of his homeland, bare chest glistening with saltwater, golden curls hardened with it as well. It was natural that he hated the fancy porcelain tiles or the ladies and lords dwelling the palace.
It has been months since Patroclus has visited Achilles in Skyros. Having dreamt of quite a lovely reunion for such a long time now, he doesn't understand why Achilles is avoiding him at all.

He can hear amusement there, and desire too; there is no hiding the way Pat's body responds to his, like the sweet notes of a lyre when its strings are plucked.
Even in sleep, Achilles can't help but reach for his lover. Patroclus is more than happy to show him that reality can be every bit as tantalizing as his dreams.
