Summary
He did have that once. A few years ago? He laughs a little to himself. How long has he been leaching off of others that he has forgotten his own freedom? Maybe he deserves this, his mind decides. All along his life he has been treated either as a person on the pedestal or as a street dog scavenging for food, he has been looked up to or pitied, coddled or hurt. A middle place - a chance of stability, not the bottom of the barrel or the top of the cream, maybe he has found that living with Hai- Alhaitham, that is.
A house he can call his home - of sorts, a man he can call his lover - of sorts, a ragtag buddle of people he gets to call his friends, a sort of stability he can grasp at. And what has his life always been if not unstable, shaky, teetering on the edge of a precipice.

Summary
“Haitham…” He spoke softly and if Alhaitham would have had his headphones on, he would have almost missed it. Shutting his book down, he looked up and met the red eyes. His eyes that would usually be reminiscent of the setting sun, were red lined. This was not good. If his senior had been crying, something was definitely wrong.
“Kaveh?” Alhaitham tried to ask as softly as possible. He did not want to start any unnecessary arguments not right now. “Are you okay?”

“Well,” Shen Yuan says, subtly trying to pull his hand back from a heavily sedated Luo Binghe who not-so-subtly keeps murmuring ‘Married?’ over and over with every squeeze of his fingers, “about that—”
“Bro.” The scandalized gasp that bounces off the walls makes Shen Yuan feel like a criminal. “You had to lie about your familial relationship with the dude, and the first thing that came to mind was to say you’re his husband?”
“Actually,” Shen Yuan corrects, “I didn’t say I was his husband.”
At his side, Luo Binghe breathes out a soft, “Husband.”
Or; Shen Yuan acts like pretending to be Binghe’s husband isn’t the best thing to ever happen to him.
