“Sounds dramatic. He seems like a piece of work.”
The room goes dead quiet.
Atsumu turns.
The man in the doorway is tall, dressed in dark slacks and a fitted black sweater that looks completely out of place among all the finger paint and glitter. Curly black hair frames a sharp, composed face. A small bottle of hand sanitizer hangs from his pocket, and a pack of disinfectant wipes is tucked neatly under one arm.
Those observant eyes lock onto Atsumu at once.
“Sakusa-sensei,” someone says, like they’re making introductions to minor royalty.
“The new assistant?”
“Ye. That’s me,” Atsumu says, flashing a grin. “Miya Atsumu.”
A beat of silence.
Then Sakusa says, “You’re blocking the emergency exit.”
“Eh?”
A sigh. “Just step aside.”
Atsumu glances behind himself.
He is, in fact, blocking the emergency exit.
Damn. They weren’t kidding.OR, Atsumu, the new teacher assistant, thinks Sakusa Kiyoomi is kind of a terrifying teacher.
Then he watches him comfort a crying four-year-old by discussing dinosaur shoes, and unfortunately, things only get worse from there.- Language:

But as he and twin brother tried to fit far too much flat-packed furniture into Atsumu's much too small, bright yellow Honda that was his pride and joy, he was cursing Kiyoomi's entire bloodline for not coming to help due a "family emergency" (in quotes because when Atsumu confronted Motoya about it, Kiyoomi stomped on his foot to stop him from giving him away).

“Come on then, angel,” Miya smiles, just between the two of them, then grabs Kiyoomi around the middle and spins him in circles all around the room, dodging furniture and cheering teammates and dubious puddles on the floor and their own flying feet, laughing. He’s so beautiful. Miya. Ridiculous fucking man. And he looks at Kiyoomi like he thinks he’s beautiful, too, with all of his odd angles and bushy eyebrows and thin lips. Not that there isn’t some sort of charm to that, if you like the graveyard keeper, haunted doll aesthetic, but—it’s Miya Atsumu. Kiyoomi can’t ever imagine someone that fucking radiant and shit with all of his own gloom and doom.

“Don’t gotta take it if ya don’t wanna,” he says. “But I figured you’d need it. And I think I know ya pretty damn well by now.”
Miya Atsumu is not bothered by his occasionally very obvious and glaring character flaws. He is not an alcoholic. He knows this to be true about himself.
So, on the morning of his wedding, he begins the day with a shot of vodka.

Sakusa Kiyoomi is pretty, slouched against a bar. He’s got a tight black turtleneck that molds to his skin, and the golden lights above their heads contour him like they were designed for that express purpose. His hair falls in nicely coiffed curls, inky black. His eyes are dark, dark, dark. Atsumu smiles at him, putting all his charm into it.
Sakusa looks downright murderous. Atsumu wonders if he should feel fear.
“They warned me about Inarizaki’s hair-brained heir to the House,” Sakusa sneers. “Nothing could have prepared me for such inane levels of incompetency.”
“Did’jya swallow a dictionary before ya came out tonight, Omi-Omi?”

Look, it wasn’t like Wei Ying meant to get so deep into the lie.
He'd started out by simply saying ‘sorry, I’m taken’ when anyone asked him out.
He hadn’t really been expecting to have to answer follow up questions from his co-workers like: ‘Is it serious? What do they do for work? Do they live in town? How did you meet? What are they like?’
Wei Ying did not have a great memory for things outside of engineering and product design, so there was absolutely no way he was going to be able to keep his story straight if he really just made everything up.
He'd just needed a… a mental model of what a potential partner for him could be like. So his brain had pulled up the memory of a guy in college that he'd always vaguely thought that—if he ever did settle down with someone—it would be like him.
He possibly didn’t realize just how far things had snowballed until one day when one of his colleagues said:
“Hey! I was talking to my cousin the other day and she actually knows your husband. Small world right?”
