Summary
"... Alright, I give," he finally says. He leans back and really looks at you-- alive, in spite of half a lifetime of his best, most desperate efforts. You give him another uneven smile. "Why not just kill me?"
"I will," you say, because it's true, and twenty years after the fact you finally understand that you owe him this much. "Publicly, of course. To make an example."

Summary
Stu reached one of his long, large hands around, grabbing Murdoc’s shirt at the chest, just holding on. “You want me, right?” he asked.
Murdoc laughed again, unable not to. It was a laughable situation. He took a hit, not wanting to let the joint burn away in his hand, and he tilted his head to the side, giving Stu a little more room to work with. “So bad it keeps me up every night.”
Stu hummed, not picking up on the sarcasm.

Summary
It was infuriating. If Murdoc had touched him like that years ago, 2D would have flinched away. Now, it made him want to lean in— it made his head spin.

Summary
He only needed wait a few hours for Murdoc to check on the other cyborg, which infuriated Cy-D.
Murdoc didn’t enter the room. He froze in the doorway, staring in at the scene Cy-D had left for him, his face pale and drawn and his body swaying from his latest bout of drinking. When he swallowed, the sound was wetter than it should have been. Perhaps he’d become fond of the cyborg, or perhaps he was just disappointed that his plans to rejuvenate his band were coming crashing down around him.
“You didn’t need her,” said Cy-D, breaking the silence, and Murdoc jerked around to face him and nearly fell over as a result. His elbow smacked into the doorframe and he barely seemed to notice. “You shouldn’t have built her when you had me.”
Murdoc builds a cyborg of 2D and ultimately abandons the project. This goes as poorly as you might expect.

Summary
Murdoc turns so his legs are propped up in the bed, a spindly conglomeration of hairy, muscular calves and knobby knees. He holds the joint out to 2D, who can only pinpoint it by the cherry red glow burning at the tip.
On a tour bus, somewhere in the states, 2D learns something new about himself.
