It goes like this: Rhett knows what he wants, how he wants this to end up, but he knows Link won’t agree to it without some coaxing. It only gets like this when he has Link worked up, glasses askew, sweating and panting, and so damn near losing himself. He’s got Link pinned beneath him on the bed, thighs straddling his bare chest, holding him down and pushing the air out of his lungs just enough for Link to feel the desperation prickling around the edges of his consciousness.

“I’m bringing back the mid-riff. You like it?” It’s a challenge, and Link doesn’t bite. Instead, he shakes his head and takes a sip of his drink. “I wasn’t wearing it for you, anyway.”
“Who were you wearing it for? Certainly not Jessie,” Link laughs.
“Maybe I was wearing if for your wife.” It’s a familiar joke, and Link just shakes his head at him, joining in on the soft laughter Rhett lets out. “She called me the other night, you know?”

Summary
It doesn’t always go anywhere, but tonight it does despite the exhaustion smearing itself over both of them. He’s left a little breathless when Rhett gets a grin on his face, asks him, “Really?” and grabs both of Link’s wrists in his huge hands. He gets them over Link’s head, and it’s like he’s soaring.
Pulling in big gulps of air, he nods his head, thinks, ‘Shit. Yeah. Absolutely this.’
