Summary
Shane had the sudden sinking feeling that he had been stood up. Rozanov must have found something better to do with his night in Toronto. He started back into his room when the number next to his door caught his eye.

He’d told Rozanov the wrong number. He was sure of it. His brain was so scrambled by the interaction in the shower that when Rozanov asked his room number, he jumbled up the digits and told him 1410.
OR

Ilya looked at him with such patent confusion that for a moment Shane thought that he didn't know the word in English. Then Ilya said, “No, Hollander. I do not have a budget,” voice dripping with disdain.
“You really should,” Shane said, parroting the line he’s heard from his parents so many times before. “It’s important to manage your finances.”
Ilya just rolled his eyes.

Ilya grinned at him. It was a mean-edged grin but something about it seemed to suggest that he was joking with Shane, rather than about him. “Oh, he speaks.”
