    This rewrite of s3e1 shows that Lanfear’s appearance on the balcony speaking with Moiraine is merely one chapter in a more complex relationship and far from their first encounter in Tar Valon.

    Moiraine was clingy, achingly so. Not that Siuan wasn't, but Moiraine's need for closeness was overwhelming that if a single minute passed without her touching Siuan, Moiraine became restless, her focus splintering. It was almost as though she was developing an unhealthy addiction to Siuan.

    The rings of Rhuidean showed her many things that should have plagued her dreams. Visions of her death, of the Dark One’s victory. Glimpses of a normal life where Siuan and her are unburdened by duty. It was all rather predictable. Though between the whispered promises of what will likely be and the painful reminders of what could have been, there was one image the Aes Sedai couldn’t get out of her head. She was vehemently against the idea and yet she could not douse the heat that curled within her as she recalled the scene.

    Moiraine gets that vision of her and Lanfear in bed and it makes her feels things so she decides to do something about it.
