"Dazai-san always harped on about storytelling," Atsushi replied like it was the smartest thing in the world. "So I'm writing a story about two boys who enter an original world to save their own, should it ever become unstable.")

“Hey, uh, Akutagawa?” Atsushi tries shakily.
“What is it, weretiger?”
“Don’t you think those two are, um… a little… close?”
Akutagawa turns his eyes away from the window, following Atsushi’s gaze towards the strange duo. The two of them watch as Ryuunsouke pulls back, fingertips that had been on the other’s biceps trailing down and down, to his elbow, to the other’s waist –
Akutagawa’s expression does not change.
“…They are partners, weretiger. There’s nothing unusual there,” he concludes, then turns back to the window.
Atsushi’s eyebrow twitches.
Partners his ass.
After the defeat of Fukuchi Ochi, Atsushi and Akutagawa stumble across a pocket of spacetime that sends them to a world in which their doppelgängers are both members of the Armed Detective Agency. And are very, very close. Who can blame Atsushi for wanting a little taste?
