Summary
The battle is over, but its consequences are just beginning. Midoriya lies unconscious in U.A.'s infirmary, covered in wounds he earned by jumping in front of an attack meant for Bakugo. Katsuki wasn’t injured—not physically—but something in him cracked when he saw Deku fall. Now, confined inside U.A. during lockdown, Bakugo finds himself lingering outside the infirmary door, consumed by anger, confusion... and something more unsettling: guilt.
He tells himself Deku’s a damn idiot. That what he did was unforgivable. That he never asked to be saved. But as the days pass and Deku remains fragile and quiet, Bakugo starts to realize that what he’s really afraid of isn’t weakness—it’s what he’s beginning to feel.
He doesn’t forgive. He doesn’t forget.
But maybe… for Deku… he’ll start to change.
