Summary
Jonathan pulls back just slightly, looking into her eyes. “You waited for me,” he reminds her, definitely teasing now.
He expects her to shove him, to laugh at his bad attempt at a joke or even maybe get a little offended as she had the first time they talked about this, in a shitty motel bed under equally shitty blankets. But here, in the warm morning light, wrapped together under soft, white sheets, she just cups his cheek in her hand. Her big eyes are so beautifully blue, and the sincere and affectionate look in them makes Jonathan’s breath catch in his throat.
“I did,” Nancy whispers, pressing another smiling kiss against his lips.

“Who?” Jughead looked around the room, noticing a number of interesting characters. “The one throwing up in the plastic bag with a hole in the bottom or the one soaked in urine and yelling at the wall?”
“The hot one!” he said, nodding to his left.
“The blonde?” he asked, noticing a girl holding paper towels to her hand.
“No, her friend! With the dark hair,” he said, trying and failing to look very discreet as he checked her out.

First, there is the dark:
Waking, drowning, sideways-slipping.
A creature with three mouths, ten thousand teeth. The inky collapse of a nebula. A demo-dog with no beak.
Mike in the evening. Mike in the afterlife. Mike with sun-swollen cheeks.
Then:
“Disgusting?” Will echoes.
The clock starts to chime. The world seems to shrink.
“You're disgusting,” Mike says, definitive.
“I’ll just–” Will says, but there is no just about it, only floundering fish-feet as he struggles off the couch and to the foot of the stairs, someone behind him promising the juiciest steak you’ll ever eat!
Then:
Compared to Will’s skin, Mike's hand is nearly searing, long-knuckled, sixteen. It fizzles through Will like a lightning strike. In this moment, in the car, Will wants him.
Will always wants him – his dimples, his fine-motor skills, his tongue caught between his teeth.
or, after Vecna captures Will, things go a little differently.
